We're constantly looking for people like you!
We feel it is very important that our volunteers enjoy their time with us. We want them to return! Hosts/Hostesses would prepare coffee, tea and sweet treats for breaks. Time commitment: 8:30 to 10:30 am. Choose a day (Mon thru Fri) that works for you.
We need 30 volunteers per day (age 14 or over)every Monday thru Friday, to work on our production line from 8:30 am to 12 Noon. All necessary equipment such as aprons, knives, gloves & hair nets are provided. Choose a day(s) that works for you.
We supply baked goods for up to 30 volunteers on a daily basis so we need your help! Do you like to bake cookies, muffins, squares or pies? Come spend an afternoon baking in our kitchen. Let us know what ingredients you need and we'll make sure you get them
Gleaners Faith Community Representative
Your role would be to keep the leadership of your home church or community group informed of ongoing initiatives that the Gleaners are engaged in throughout the community. You would be provided with all the pertinent background information contained in a presentation folder including the following items: short backgrounder video, talking points insert, brochures and donation envelopes, for your usage.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
- Youth 14 years and older could achieve the required 40 hours of community service.
- Consider becoming a volunteer from your social club, senior's group, faith community, circle of friends,or employee team building group.
- Visiting Mission groups-consider Southwestern Ontario Gleaners as a mission destination to assist in our food rescue initiative that feeds those who are hungry locally, nationally and internationally
In general, we are looking for volunteers that have experience with food equipment and food processing. If you would like to join a team or committee please contact us. Making a Donation
Southwesten Ontario Gleaners is 100% donor driven. We are supported by individual, church, and corporate donations. Your donation dollars help us feed some of the world's hungry by converting surplus food into a nutritious soup mix. All funds donated are used to operate and maintain our facility.
