Michelle McCormack, a volunteer with the Southwestern Ontario Gleaners has traveled to Thunder Bay to accompany a Gleaners' shipment to be distributed to Northern Ontario. Volker Kromm from the Regional Food Distribution Association of Northwestern Ontario is personally delivering the dehydrated soup and apple snacks as well as the trial run of fresh Leamington produce into the various communities. In the photo above, Volker and Michelle are stretching their legs while waiting for a road closure to clear. Please keep safe for the rest of your journey! On December 9th some of this cargo will be delivered by plane into the Community of Sandy Lake. Volker and Michelle will also be flying in to assist with the distribution. On November 22, a group of Gleaners went to the Provincial Legislature at Queen's Park in Toronto. In the picture above, they are about to meet the Members after question period to have them try their soup mix.
